Just traded up my SV to a Triumph Daytona 955 at the end of November. what with the breakng in period and the foul conditions it forced me to limit myself and get to know the bike better, so come the spring I'll be able to open her up a little.

Big bikes aren't danerous it's people who don't give them enough respect or try and ride them like a small bike.

another triumph convert, good choice, had a t595 and a 955i Daytona in the past.

You won't be disappointed.

Cheers Mark.

I agree the Hornet is a well made, capable and attractive bike. Looks better in pink though!

The SV is an equally capable and attractive bike, but a different proposition altogether. Anything other than silver just looks stupid! :P

The GSXR 600 is IMHO the most attractive sports 600 on the market today, (especially in the all black ZK4 guise).

But, there is only one bike that I'm sure we can all agree is the one that we all aspire to......

The Suzuki RV125 Van Van......

Your so right, I'm not a slow rider (middle of the intermediate groups on track days) and own a GSXR600, but some bloke completely whapped me the other day on the bends near Burnham (Bradwell I think, I'm not sure where we went) and he was riding a big old tourer (more sporty than a Goldwing but not much). His entry speed and exit speed on the bends were much faster than mine and his technique was good. I'd like to say he was a professional racer of Police Motorcycle trainer, but I never got the chance to ask, I guess he was just better as getting the most out of his bike. If he'd been on an SV he would have been even quicker.

That van van is terrible isnt it lol, it looks like it has a disease! I do appreciate that a good rider on an SV could blitz a poor rider on a gixer but what could a good rider do on a ducati 749?

I used to have a yamaha rs125dx, it was made in 1980 and was a pile of ****e basically. I remember I had a race with 2 aprillia rs125's and I destroyed them in the bends so I do see where your coming from but why not have it all thats what I think, brilliant handling, brutal acceleration and brakes. Works for me.

Poor? Hope you are not referring to my last comment mate!

Of course, with the same ability rider a 749 should do a SV, but if you do a track day, check out the 250/400cc club racer's lap times and see if you can get close, even on a 749 or 999. You will probably go faster on a better bike but you can also go faster on the same bike. Until you hold the lap record, you're not at the bikes full potential. Swapping to a faster bike is an easier option though, that's why I swapped from SV to GSXR for track days
