I liked it so much that I did a reprise/alternate version of this route myself today.
Out of Bristol through Bishopsworth and Dundry. Chew Stoke, Lake, Rickford, Burrington Coombe, then to Priddy. Then down a very silly track that I once drove up years ago and had forgotten exactly what it was like. Be nice for the trailly boys though - It's the road from Priddy to Wookey Hole.
Stopped in the Bike shop in Wells, he's open 7 days and is friendly and happy to chat, and has a pie wagon outside. Along to Cheddar and up the gorge through massively heavy traffic, and back to Bristol. And my magic jacket kept the rain away again.

All this after having to singlehandedly prove to the Guildford mob that not all Bristolians are teetotal.

There's lots of 'amusing' tracks in the mendips. We should do an unplanned mendip explorer again soon...

Shouldn't think so. This is Somerset Superbikes, they opened in Wells about a year ago, and were just down the road in Easton before that. The bloke running it is called Jason, and he seemed to be the owner rather than just the manager. It's on the little industrial estate opposite the Thales site.

Definitely. However all my OS maps of the area were stolen by the Guildford Four.
