Default Wet Roads!!

Happy new year lads, hope everyone's well?

I'd just like to say that I have only just dried out after riding upto Riches Dads.

It would be good to catch up with you all again soon.

I've just re-read most of this thread and it appears to make the NS last year be a whole load of fast blokes nads out (the delightful Mrs Fizz excepted) giving it large everywhere.

I ran as the 'sweeper' last year and would be quite happy to do it again this year. I have never been called fast (except that one time - but she said it could happen to anyone ) and I don't want people to get the wrong idea. The real difference between the NS and AR is that on the NS it is all about going out to ride the roads, speed isn't an issue - safety is.

If I'm sweeping this year then I can tell you now that I'm quite happy to match the speed of the person in front of me no matter how slow it is (and if they are faster than I am comfortable with - then I will be along a bit later).

So don't get put off - JFDI

I'll be in so long as I get a bike sorted out by then, 'sokay Paul I'll no doubt be keeping you company at the back as you know it's been a while.

I'd like to try and come along, if the date is 15,16,17 June it doesnt clash with AR anyway,does it, i'm confused!

I have to say, I am not slow, but I don't want pressure to 'race'. I like the idea of riding the roads, and not just doing social. 250 - 300 miles ish in day seems reasonable, are you planning more then that?

You wont be any pressure to race.

The point is last year it split into groups one quite quick, others quick, some folks going along at paces they were happy with but they made sure they knew the way and there was no complaining folks got lost etc. Because its not a very formalised event. But as PBX says he's happy to sweep etc, so all good.

It was great last year and its easygoing-ness was one bit that I personally really enjoyed.

There will no doubt be quick riding, I certainly couldnt keep up with the front group last time and I'm not especially slow. But thats fine, there was some slow riding as well and all were very smiley whatever IIRC

Bl&&dy Hell!
No sooner have I "discovered" this thread than I have to bow out if its going to be the 15/16/17th

For anyone wanting to find out their capabilities (without pressure) this is DEFINITELY the rideout to choose. As everyone has already said, the the different ability/mood groups just formed naturally and the scenery is just stunning (if a little blurry at times )

Enjoy it folks.......................unless the dates change and then I will be there like a shot
