Congratulations, I know exactly how you must be feeling, my wife gave birth to our first child, a daughter, in the small hours of last Tuesday by emergency section (so no long labour).

Was quite funny really, it was all arranged for Wednesday afternoon but she woke me just before midnight on Monday to say her membranes had ruptured.. my first thought was you must be kidding I've been up since five and have to be up again in five hours!!! Followed by "are you sure?" but then she's a midwife and should know about these things...

I meant to post before now myself but I've been living for the last seven days on a combination of caffeine and adrenaline and am not exactly thinking straight.

We're naming him Luis Ewan. Luis is Mrs Wyrdness's first choice of name. I wanted him to be Ewan, after the long distance BMW riding hero.

Hyperemesis (extreme morning sickness) is really horrible. Gemma had it for about four and a half months, but not quite badly enough to need hospital, though she was signed off work for months. Another friend of ours had it and did have to stay in hospital. I hope that your partner manages to get over it and everything works out well for you.

oh what a sweetie he is really geourgeous enjoy these months and take many pics as he will grow really fast believe you me i have three and the youngest is 1 and a half yrs old but the time has flown past and well she will be at nursery next yr towards the end of next yr congrats on the birth of your son
