Call the lovely Debbie on 0800 310 2100 to order.
Why not just get him to have a YTX14 (i know its a lil more money)?
I have one in my curvey and it fits fine, better for the cold starts.

The YT12A-BS and YTX14-BS share the sdame footprint, 150mm x 87mm but the YTX14-BS is tallerat 145mm, 40mm taller.

I wasn't sure there was 40mm spare space under the seat for the taller battery.

Performance wise the Yuasa YTX14 is 200A CCA rated and the Yuasa YT12A-BS is 175.

Capacity is larger at 12Ah v 10Ah.

If it will fit it would certainly give a bit more performance.

There should be enough room, but probably not if you have had to raise it to fit a proper rear shock.

OK, yes the YTZ14 is 150 x 87mm as well, but 110mm tall making it pretty much the same same size as the original battery.

Yuasa make a YTZ14S and claim it is the only one with true YTZ technology. The Varta book claims the same 230A CCA rating however.

I only have the Yuasa one in stock.

With all the talk of different battery types it's confused me this morning, even after the rocket fuel theyy call coffee.

Could I please have a summary on this....Require replacement battery for 2002 Curvey.

Current Battery: YT12A-BS

Other than a like for like replacement, what other battery can I use, without worrying about fitment?

Thanks.

Personally I would say replace it with either another YT12A-BS or a YTX9-BS, there is not a lot between them, the YT12A-BS costs a bit more and has a higher starting output, but either will start your bike fine.

Product Code: YT12A-BS

Brand:Yuasa
Voltage:12 v
Capacity:10 Ah
Dimensions:150mm x 87mm x 105mm
More info

Product Code: YTX9-BS

Brand:Yuasa
Voltage:12 v
Capacity:8 Ah
Weight:2.5 Kg
Dimensions:150mm x 87mm x 105mm
More info

Just spoke to a colleague of yours, as Debbie was on the "squark box" and he advised me that unfortunately August is the earliest date of delivery for the YT12A-BS so will see who else has one of these.

Thanks for your help.
