My other half also rides and we had this debate in the programme. Advise in the horse world, and from police, is to ride side by side (still ensuring you are on the correct side of the road) in order to reduce the chance of people speeding past as it narrows the space for them to get by. On the same basis, if out on their own, advice is to ride towards the white line never in at the kerb.

It might be a pain in the ****, but I see the logic and have to agree with it.

Yea, I see the point from a saftey aspect. However, that "policy" also ensures horse crap in the middle of the road, or near the white line.

Saw this the other day didn't think they were as big a ******s as they could have been. Mr SP1 was taking the **** a tad, the guy that 'lost his memory' was a bit pathetic. I wish PC shirley (dennis) had of done more to that pratt in the cage trying to kill the bikers. I had a lass in a 206cc try that with me on my second day on the sv and first time on the motorway (biking).

I'd like to have listened to the line of questioning if the lad in the VW had elected to go to court.
Q. Tell me officer did you take the registration number of the speeding car is it went past you at 124mph in the outside lane?
R. Eh, no your worships.
Q. Tell me officer, did you maintain a constant view of this vehicle as it drove away from you at 124mph whilst you reversed you police car on the observation post and then moved out into the carriageway.
R. Eh, no your worships.
Q. Tell me officer, just how long did it take you to go from a standing start at the side of the road to catch up with this car that was travelling at 124mph.
R. Eh, quite a few miles your worships.
Q. Tell me officer, is it right that when you caught up with my client he was driving his silver VW Lupo at 70mph in lane one.
R. Eh, yes that's right.
Q. So tell me officer, how do you intend to show this court that the car you recorded at 124mph was the same car my client was driving.
R. Eh, I can't your worships......

Not to mension when the plod pulled him over on the motorway he parked behind him but didn't have his blue lights going.
If that was me I'd argue that the plod placed my life in danger forcing me to stand on the hard shoulder without giving proper warning to road users that we where there.
