On the peaks rideout I wrapped some tool drawer liner/ tankbag>tank protector round the pillion seat which helped very slightly.

is that the rubbery stuff with holes in it? its pretty much what a triboseat is, only the triboseat is "fitted" like a fitted sheet, to your seat.

To be fair, thinking back 9 years to my first 125, yes I'm fairly sure I remember finding a lot to desire in my clutch work...and my acceleration work..and my co..you get the idea , then having my first pillion and finding out it suddenly amplifies every imperfection in your gear changes and acceleration/deceleration a 100 fold because you have an extra weight that isn't over the bikes center of gravity .

The grab rail does take a bit of getting used to and you will end up with one bicep looking bigger than the other! I stopped using it a long while back, mainly for that reason. I find squeezing with the thighs on braking and sitting as far back in the seat as possible on acceleration is the best bet, that way no strain is being put to the rider's wrists or torso. But if your lady just experiments a bit with each ride i.e. take one hand off the grab rail onto your waist, squeezing with thighs at the same time etc. then with a bit of confidence she should be happy doing whatever she feels is best.

Correction: love it, I don't have to shift back in the seat half as much as before, the grippiness really makes a difference We do have the cheaper alternative though, the proper Triboseat is a bit more "sticky" but does the same job as Chris said, at a fraction of the price so we certainly ain't complaining!
