If you've got Froyo 2.2 on it you can make some apps move to the SD card. Agree on battery life, if you're a heavy user you'll be charging it every day (or more) |

Thanks for the useful replies folks, I went to the Vodafone shop and had a play after the gym this morning
Spent a half hour or so with both phones back to back, comparing them Without a doubt the Iphone wins on style and design, glass and stainless is a nice combination. Also, the screen is much better than the Desire, which seems to be good for movies but on the Iphone you can easily read everything on the full fat BBC news homepage without zooming in at all, something the HTC can't manage even with the bigger size. It's not that the HTC isn't a nice item, but little details like plastic battery/memory covers make it feel cheap, the bottom one had already started to crack on the shop model, although having all touchscreen buttons is much nicer than the home one on the Iphone. The physical size of the Desire was just about manageable for me, no shifting the phone around to touch different parts of the screen, but obviously not as svelte as Apple have made theirs. The apple might be more expensive but it feels every penny the more expensive product What I did like was the Android operating system, not as slick or polished as iOS but if they can maintain that with a more open approach to what the user can do to it then it's far more suited to me. Despite whatever idiots might say, an Apple fan I'm not, I don't like their ethos towards software and would avoid it if I could, but now I'm faced with choice of the inferior OS on the superior hardware, or the superior OS on what is in isolation a nice phone, but back to back is obviously the lesser cousin That's before we got to discussing the HTC's battery life, even the guy in the shop who'd bought one with his own money could only describe it as "rubbish"!!! Will be going back in a couple of weeks and will see what sort of deal they can do me regarding a custom contract ![]() tl;dr - Still none the wiser... ![]()

i have been doing a little looking around after this thread has come up, and as i have been so fed up with my phone now for about the last 12 months! and still have 7 months left on contract i wondered if there were any providers/shops that would look at buying out of contracts.
I have seen that phones 4 u will potentially buy out of contracts if it works out cost affective for them, just wondering if there was anyone around with recent experience of this? |
