The obvious ones are speed and display. If you use the phone to read email or surf the web, or even navigate, these are huge improvements of the 4 over the 3gs. Weather is worth £30 or not for you is irrelevant. You can't gauge what others are worth having based on your personal preferences.

Course its a little better now I guess, you can have wall papers!

You really solved the problem. It is right for you and you should be happy there is a product out there that adapts better to your needs than the iPhone does. This shouldn't mean the Android adapts itself best to every situation and in those cases where the iPhone makes more sense, the Android could make it batter, because it doesn't.

The bigger the progress of either one, the better for all of us, yes because of how competition works.

For me it will always be the iPhone simply because I work on a Mac and the iPhone integrates beautifully with all the iMac stuff, which is the very reason a lot of Android users can't stand it. The end of story here should be that everybody has different needs and we should respect each others personal preferences.

The better device is the one that works better for you.

The problem that I see with Android is it has become fragmented, the same thing that has made Linux unusable as a desktop OS. A ton of different distros/manufacturer bespoke builds each with different capabilities and each with different levels of functionality.

Sure, its certainly VERY capable OS but they need to get their sh!t together (and as far as i see they are doing this) but in the meantime, they are not in the same league as Apple and iOS with their slick App Store and an OS that supports the tablet form factor.

I'm by no means an Apple fanboy, I've been a Windows developer for donkeys years and if you had told me a few years back that i'd be running a load of Apple kit in my house i'd have laughed. Now i've done a bit of iPhone development, got the various Macs/iPhones/iPads as dev kit and cant help but be impressed from a developer perspective about what they have achieved. I have no interest in doing an Android port of my stuff until they sort out the large screen version which may be v.3?

Anyone tried Windows Phone 7? I'd fancy that over Android if I didn't have the Iphone.

I'm running one at the moment as my work phone and to be really honest its quite poor, I would definitely rather have a similar priced android phone.

I'm an i(device) user btw. There is thread in idle banter called HTC Trophy with some peoples thoughts inc mine.

Have you ever used an Android phone properly for a period of time? Hate to say but it sounds very like you havn't. There are no big gaps where one OS is vastly superior which it seems you hint there are, they do thing different and I'm not some sort of freak, which again brings me back to my point. Even if you really get on and like ios, try Android, there is a chance you will enjoy it the same. Somehow people seem to think Android has these big holes that just arnt there so avoid it.

I don't need to rely on any other device to use Android, it can if you wish be 100% alone, but if you like the ball and chain approach then cool!

The fragmentation at the mo is not really an issue for the user. Unless your a developer then Just develop for 2+ The vast majority are on that now. Unfortunately the issue here if there is one is the phone manufacturer.

What a load of waffle. I agree with Fizz. Try being forced to use Windows Mobile for 2 years and you'll no longer care if you've got a iPhone, an Android, a Blackberry, a Palm, whatever, so long as it bl00dy works.

I've always been a Sainsbury person but since I moved and switched to ASDA I don't know how people can survive with anything else. Obviously ASDA's food is so much better ...
