But the anti-apple people just bug me so much more, they never stop going on saying how stupid xyz is and make stuff up about a product they have never even used.

"Tablet PC by apple is a completer pointless idea"....... 6 months later they buy an android one and don't shut up about how good it is.

"Apple computers are full of bloatware"......... Yeah rite, not sure which apple these people have ever used LOL

In fact on the computer side nothing is worse than windows 7 fanboys (self proclaimed computer experts), saying how much better 7 is than vista it etc, when in reality it uses more memory and is basically vista with a different name.

Apples make high end products, people will always be jealous, whats worse is when people i used to work with used to have a dig at me about "wasting" my money on high end computer, yet these people smoked 20 fags a day.
the biggest pile of tosh I think I've read on this forum. Maybe you would class me as one of those 'self proclaimed computer experts'. I'm not sure exactly where the dividing line is between self proclaimed and genuine, but with 15 years of professional IT career behind me, I'm the client technologies architect for a very large organisation that operates over 100,000 Windows clients and many thousand servers in over 100 countries.....and yes, Windows 7 is a superb client operating system, no it isnt Windows Vista with a new name.

Once you get off the <insert favorite vendor here> bandwagon you realise that there are genuinely good and bad aspects of pretty much any product. There are many different uses that these products can be put to, what you may want and need at home is your own business but I can assure you in a enterprise environment nothing comes close right now to the combination of Windows 7, app virtualisation, MS Active Directory, MS Exchange, MS SharePoint and MS Office 2010 integration. Apple has a great client but the client is only one small part of the picture.

I'm surprised you don't have one, "gixxers" come in white so it'd match your "high end" computer that does nothing any other could do for half the price...

LOL a fantastic client OS?

User wants to edit a picture, oh wait no he cant he only has paint, so he has to buy so software

Users wants to edit movies on a modern camcorder, oh no he cant movie make only supports old school encoded file, buy more software

User wants to make a webpage, oh wait he's only got notepad, guess what he needs to buy more software.

User wants to view a PDF, oh wait he needs to download adobe, more slow ass software to download.

User needs to SSH to a device, oh wait windows doesn't support SSH out of the box, yet more software to download.

You can say as much as you like about windows but critical back end system, banks etc all use unix, If you had 15 years supporting unix system I may be more inclined to listen to you

Difference between the vista kernel and 7 kernel = not a lot

Ah so thats why I like Apple products its because it matches my iIL4

I wander sometimes if in my not much of a nerd.

1. I like apple products, I can see them for what they are, I own an ipod and an iphone and very happy with both.

2. I like Windows 7, despite whats been said earlier, It is a definate improvment over Vista, and XP, I'm running it on my work PC and my work laptop and its never bugged out, crashed or blue screened and I spend alot of time fannying around with my work PC, testing stuff, uninstalling things etc. If it was on XP it would have died by now and I would have had to reinstall the OS.

3. I dont see what all the fuss about Android is all about, its seems more complicated, more fiddly and my friends Android phone reboots itself when he's in the middle of using it. He's always tweaking and fiddling with it. Which I'mn sure he likes, if it were me it would p*ss me off.

As said earlier you need to pick the best product for what you are doing.

Microsoft do some things well
Apple do some things well
Android does some things well

In an ideal world of course they'd all talk to each other. But I cant see that ever happening.

Anyways, back on topic, I think that personally some people will go out of their way to find fault with a specific vendors product, just because they've had a bad experience x number of years ago or that for various reasons that they just dont like that vendor.

I'm not attempting to convince you to listen to me, frankly I couldnt give a cr@p. You think we only use Windows? I doubt any large organisation uses only one OS. Unix has a place, as does OSX, as does Windows etc etc.

You clearly dont have a clue what you are talking about so make your choice of platform and stop whining to everybody else about theirs.

Erm, its called an Operating System.

Everything you listed is a program that runs ON an Operating System, or an extension to an Operating System.

Yeah but if you get apple you get a bunch of bloatware

Oh, I'm sorry, that should read "free stuff"

Oh, scratch that, it should read "Stuff that you paid for in the exorbitant price tag but don't actually need"
