HTC did the same with my old Tattoo, it was running 1.6 and for about a year they said 2.0 was coming soon, but it never did then they said they weren't going to do it.

The worst thing is that that isnt actually quite right. Sense is a MASSIVE RAM hog. And the 512mb on the Desire apparently cant take it. Im running 2.3.3 on Cyanogen mod7 and its as fast as you could want!

imo, the sooner the deep UI modifications get didched the better. There is nothing to stop manufacturers making widgets and other apps that are phone/brand specific so giving some distinction among the group with that.

Ill be honest; other than the pretty sense widgets and look I miss it none. It adds no functionality at all imo.

they will release it, they are taking out some of the un needed system apps to free up the memory, which i believe is holding it back

I'm due an upgrade on the 8th of September, can't decided between the samsung galaxy 2 or the HTC Sensation.

I think of the two I prefer the sensation... anyone have any opinions either way?

I've got the HTC Desire (old one, not HD) and my eldest daughter has just got the Sensation. Both cracking phones, do everything we want them to do. My eldest lad has a Samsung Omnia Windows 7 phone. He really likes it, but I don't find it as intuitive as the HTC/Android phones.

I got the galaxy S2, its the more powerful hardware and has a bigger battery so lasts a little better... But ultimately it comes down to whether you want HTC Sense or not? Both phones will do you proud.

There are some comparisons of the phones on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/user/samjpull...11/GEycqUV2mVc

If you go to his channel and search "Sensation galaxy s2" in his video you'll get a good run down of how both work.
