Bloody hell, not only are the local dealers in trouble but also one of the few chain's left

I just spent a couple of 100 beer tokens there in the past month, never had any issues there, if anything they may have been TOO helpfull sometimes (Errrr i wouldn't buy thet mate, the cheaper one is better.... several times and right too as i ignored them twice lol)

Well the clearance sale has started. Stockwell branch was insanely busy this evening, barely any space left to park outside and a brisk trade being done inside. 10% off lids, 20% off pretty much everything else - not really any different to the deals they've been offering for the last six months but not bad if there's something specific you're after.

My bet is that HG in Germany will buy out the UK shops and run them

According to a very reliable source not wrong---------but only the five best retail outlets that belonged to the UK H.G.will be taken over by Germany.
Other shops that are not reaching the sales forecasts will be closed.

Sounds like good news.

Hopefully they'll be run closer to the German style, not trying to be a parts dealer aswel

Some people will keep their jobs (if what DT is saying is the case)

Numerous media reports say "A spokesperson for the administrator also said no store closures were planned." That doesn't tally with all but five being closed, but then I suppose if they are going to stick signs in the window saying "CLOSING DOWN SALE - EVERYTHING MUST GO" then a bit of confusion can only be expected.

Only ever went into HG (Cardiff) once. I thought the prices were on the high side for average looking gear. The guy behind the counter was eating a very smelly lunch and ignored me when I went to the counter for a car park exit code. Have not been back since and maybe I never will get the chance now. I seem to remember reading about slow orders a while back - the writing on the wall? The idea of a closing down sale sounds interesting though - perhaps I will go one more time!
