if its a 2 day event - we could stay in the area, and play some cricket with them - them vs SV.org on Sunday..they usually have a rideout to the pitch ...others can carry on and meet later...

just a plan

Thanks PeteM. Ignore my email to you. The date is now set for the 5th June

It could be a 2 day event for some, but the main rideout will be on the Sunday. It worked like this last year, some people met up on the Saturday, mainly the people that had furthest to travel.

John

I'm probably going to do the camping lark. So i'll be there for the 2/3 days.

Psst....shouldnt this be in rideouts/meets or in its own section like last year!

Well Cotwolds wins by a Country Mile with nearly half the vote......

So all goes down to the planning and venue stage now....

Hopefully a new section will appear shortly dedicated to this....

The main SV650.org site has the start point as:

GOLDEN FLEECE
Nelson Street,
GL5 2HN

Looking at multimap, it looks like it's in the middle of town. Can anyone veryfy that this place:
  • a) Has the capacity to hold 30 - 40 bike
    b) Is a suitable startpoint for 10:30 on a Sunday morning.

Any insight would be appreciated.

.

I was thinking of heading down there on the Saturday and riding back on the Monday. Does anyone know any decent low cost hotels in that area. I have done a few searches but with the exception of the travel lodge at Stonehouse (7 miles away from Stroud) there doesn't seem to be anything for reasonable money.

To old for this camping lark. Like a proper pit and facilities.

Is it really a good idea starting from Stroud as its right over one side. I thought Burford way might be better. But its no odds to me, just thinking of the others. Guess its near M5 I suppose. Also Stroud is a bit of a dump and not especially real Cotswolds IMO.
