![]() Northwind sums it up for me..i do tend to state facts, i also tend to wind people up when people start to bite, i suppose that stems from being resident on visordown for too long..your post style tends to change after being on there!. As far as garages go, sorry you feel that way. I have had people i dont know come in and ask for space and as long as they can get their kit into the garage they are always welcome!. I dont think i have ever turned down paddock space for anyone..so dont put me with the group of people you perceive as being a clique..i make friends with everyone i meet in the paddock. And as far as my husband owning a suzuki dealership..that doesnt mean i have been on competitive bikes all the time. We aint rich by far and i have maxed myself out to build what is a superb bike..so dont have a go at that. I have ridden a 600 that was stock and about 10bhp down, actually my current bike isnt the quickest bike out in thunderbikes. But hey i am still racing and i enjoy it for that. Anyways...i think its best left at that. Other than when you ask as question on a forum, maybe not every response is what you want to hear, but take them all as potential advice and grow with it dont flame the poster though if you dont agree which is whats happened in this case. |

I make friends with everyone i meet, well to a degree unless someone insults me. I have no clique..in fact i hate clique's. I dont think they exist in the paddock, all you see are groups of people that know each other, i can't see the bad in that. I help whoever i can as thats part of racing, i have people in the garage i dont know, to give them a space to keep their kit. Thats my life, racing and helping others. I grew up in the most cliquest sport ever of showjumping...the racing paddock is nothing like that. And owning a suzuki dealership - i aint rich..i maxed myself out to build a good bike..i feel no wrong in that. I have also ridden uncompetitive bikes and been the under dog. Anways..i think its best left as is. If you ask a question, some posts you wont agree with. Thats internet forums, a place that can be so full of poop at times and a place where it easy to be misunderstood. Good luck in whatever you decide to do this year..if you come and do a race enjoy it!. I will be there to make a cuppa for you no matter whats been said on here. |

Mike - that is Mandy on the LHS isn't it?? if I remember rightly that crash bu66ered her up quite badly?! .. perhaps it was nother?!?! she did have a few
![]() SV650Racer - Ok a truce - 'bygones' ![]() I could state many many more examples of ignorance and a-holes in the paddock* I have come across over the years to show the cliques and ignorant people exist - its not all this fairytale that you have been fortunate enough to be caught up in … perhaps without even knowing it you are segregating yourself (read on) and unfortunately that puts you in the other side of the 'them and us' set to me ![]() ![]() Unfortunately when you block off areas of paddock or garages weather you realise it or not you making a clique and putting people like me out … if you truly don’t mind non-friends to come in to garages and paddock space, then why ‘save’ spaces in the first place?!!??! :P Having space near the action is a massive advantage … them last minute warmer rip-offs or last min red-flag hold-ups that suckers like me stuck miles back who have to travel a fair ways to the collecting area don’t get the luxury off … Hopefully you can see there is a whole different side to this game for people like me that don't know any of the big-shots and just wanted to keep themselves to themselves and get on with the business of racing as hard as they can!! To be honest I don’t want to make friends with people that act as I have seen! Oh and BTW I have met a few nice people along the way, its generally the little men not thems with their head so far up their own (and their friends) behinds they can’t see outside ![]() ![]() Anyway ……… so like I said, ok Bygones ![]() ![]() ![]() *a couple more examples if you care to read … Apart from fencing off etc its just simple stuff like inconsiderate generator or BBQ placing (had BBQ fat all over my outfit and my awning scorched), even emptying their caravan waste pipe allowing it to fill my ‘setup’ with their waste water … but more worrying and annoying still - some of them actually putting me in danger!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Oh and another one I just remembered ... someone cut ALL my spanner mans guide ropes on his tent one night ... I mean WTF???? what is these peoples mentality??!?!? ![]() ![]() |

Yup maybe i have been lucky in not really seeing that kind of stuff going on. I have been on both sides of the fence. When i started racing i was borrowing a friends bike to race on. I had to ride my road bike to every meeting as i had no car, get the bike out of his van and was from then on my own in my tent, with a few spanners and not alot more. I did see people fencing off areas etc but it didnt bother me too much. I guess its different to how people percieve this.
Me personally saving space for friends doesnt make me block people out that i dont know..maybe others do it, i dont know..but i dont pay alot of attention to that anyway. I have been known as a chatterbox and will talk to anyone..so possibly thats why i dont see groups of friends as a clique..i just but in there anyway!. Any rode... looking forward to march..if you do decide to come along and do a meeting then make sure you say hi.. ![]() |

If you were doing it for 'fun' then a lot of it doesn't matter ... who cares where you are in the pits?!?!? but I was doing it and wanted to be competitive ... then it does matter ...

When competiting for 4th in the championship this year, tbh the guy that beat me hardly ever had a garage. To me personally where i was in the paddock didnt matter.. Next season i am doing british superstock cup..i will then be shoved down the back of the paddock and told to park in a set area. No chance of a garage then!. I will still enjoy it though..no matter where i am..maybe im just weird! ![]() |

![]() ![]() Again, if it means so little to you to have prime real-estate then why take it up at all, let alone taking even more up by corning off for others?!!?? Go to the suburbs and leave the prime spots to people who do care ... bet you won't!! ![]() Quote:
