I aquired a Trace Elliot lead amp and 4X12, sounds great. Theres a pic of the speaker on you and your garage somewhere. I had Marshalls and HH (going back a bit) Used to have a JMP1, JFX1 and Peavey rack mounted 50/50 classic, through 2 1036 2X12 cabs, sounded awesome.

Which Trace is it you've got? I had a Speed Twin 50 for ages, traded it in against my vox since I didn't have space for a halfstack any more It was ace.

I don't have a problem with the solo bits, its the chords, i'm not a strummer I'm a picker if that sounds right. i used to jam with a mate of mine that had played guitar since he was 6. i was jealous cause he was technically brilliant and him of me cause he couldn't ever improvise. So together I suppose it sounded alright
and yes smooth is quite easy for a solo, i was surprised

know what you mean we once auditioned a sax player that said he was grade 8 and we ask him to jam with us in e as ya do and he looked horrified, i ended up having to write all his riffs out, i started by learning chords then scales then modes its easy if you already have the music in you

sounds like your a pro then smudge....I may be able to play by ear so to speak...that don't mean anything, like i said, solo's are quite easy to pick up if ya can hear em right, but if you asked me wot an E minor 7th was i'd say erm duhh??...Ihave a natural ability to pick up an instrument and be able to knock aa tune out.....doesn't mean I'm any good
people have tried to teach me properly in the past and i've just ended up giggling in a heap cause of embarassment

i find books the best way then your pride doesnt have to come into it, if you got a book on scales and started with the pentatonic (blues) ones within no time you'd be making lead riffs up, thats what its all about for me so you can create your own, you'll have to pop over to mine for a coffee Dizz ive just been made redundant so ill be spending most of my days at home in the studio, when i say studio i mean a twelve by twelve room with acoustic foam everywhere with a miced up pearl kit, PC running cubase sx and reason 4 with firewire mixer and monitors plus my guitars and basses and a box full of bits like cabassa, guero, triangle, flutes and all kinds of hippy nonsense
