Re: AR2013 Chat Thread
That must be why The Thomas Lord has won so many awards. I assume people will eat at the base camp a couple of times but nice to have other options, and this one is good. Best burger I've had in ages and the parmesan and truffle fries were a sublime treat.

Re: AR2013 Chat Thread
i rest my case
James martin also has a restaurant in Winchester if anyone else is feeling like wasting some money. I'm not trying to be funny but people from the meon hut may be looking at this site and to see people recommending other pubs in the area is a bit of an insult, they're putting us up for free with the intention of making money off us via pub service and i think its only fair they do. I appreciate that is it not compulsory |

Re: AR2013 Chat Thread
TBH you'll be in the. Middle of the South Downs national park, there's at least one pub in or just outside every village and the standard of food is pretty good in all of them.
I particularly recommend the flowerpots up the road in cheriton if Sir Dave of Preston (or anyone else) wishes to sample some locally brewed ale (locally as in just across the yard from the main pub) Raymond blanc also has a restaurant in Winchester and I can personally guarantee that the food there will meet all your overpricing needs whilst remaining no more delicious than a normal pub meal albeit in smaller portions artfully presented. Probably. Their AA double rosette puts them somewhere in the top 40% of all the eateries in their restaurant guide. Last edited by Spank86; 17-06-13 at 09:12 PM. |
