Re: The running thread.
Gary, maybe you need to stick to the gardening for a little while longer - consider it cross training.
Take it easy today.

Re: The running thread.
Bloody frustrating really. It was such a nice run too, shame it ended the way it did.
Not much choice about taking it easy for a few days. Ribs are blooming painful atm. Slept in a chair last night as it hurts to much to try and lie down or get up again from that position. Left hand around the third and fourth fingers is well swollen too. Not broken though as I can move it ok. Grrrr.... |

Re: The running thread.
One thing I have noticed as I get older. I seem to have gotten less bouncy.
When you are young you stack it and spring back up. Give yourself a dust off and carry on. Now I tend to land like a sack of **** and stay there. Not a lot of bounce left. If you haven't already get dosed up on Ibuprofen.

Re: The running thread.
So do I Darren, not keen to be sleeping in a chair rather than lying in my bed.

Re: The running thread.
Well, still not running as my ribs are still not completely healed. Walking is ok, and I had an experimental little jog this morning. I think as long as I'm careful I may manage a short, gentle run so I'm going to give it a try tomorrow.
Desperate to get back to it really. |

Re: The running thread.
First run for three weeks since taking a fall while running. Ribs were ok, no problem running, but went gently! Three and a half miles around my favourite short local loop - nice to be back out there.

Re: The running thread.
Out again this evening for a slightly longer, and decidedly more hilly run. I had been going to run this morning but I spent too long faffing about at other stuff and it got too warm to go, especially for Mabel. Much cooler this evening although still pretty muggy.
