20 miles too few
I think I have an ever so slight problem with the amount of fuel I seem to get through: I only seem to be able to get about 100 miles out of a tank before the fuel light comes on.
On my previous bike I got over 120 miles out of the tank before the little light. Okay, the bike does have a Power commander, a Quill T3 ti exhaust (road legal) and K+N Air filters, but even so a 12.5% increase in fuel consumption seems a little (pardon the pun ) rich The power commander was setup by a company in East London and remapped..... I'd love some light on this, as It is a bit too juicy really, and that 20 extra miles does make life that bit better (I'd be happy with 10 miles) Cheers all |

With all that, especially the PC3... sounds about right.

Not all fuel lights come on at the same point. You could have two identical bikes doing exactly the same miles and their lights could come on at completely different mileages. The sensors don't seem to be very accurate. The fuel light on my triumph comes on with 6 litres left in the tank. It's supposed to come on when there are 4 left - so you can see how accurate it isn't.

mine and lots of others on here who ride in cities get the exact same, about 100miles on 11 quid. If you do motorways etc you will get considerably more miles out of your tank.. I used to spend 4 quid a week on my scooter and now paying at least 10 or 11 for my sv for the same journeys.....

Sounds about right for an sv, if you think thats bad you ought to try my firestorm. 75-80 miles on a tank if I thrape it , which I do . With standard cans and taking it steady, 75-80 mph, I can get about 110-115 miles per tank.

Why not just remove the PC3 for a tank full to see if it goes up.
The QuillT3 does not need the bike to be remapped specificly, but as you have a K&N then it is possable that you have the wrong map installed on the PC3. Take it to a dyno center and they can remap the PC properly on a dyno run.
