You have my sympathy John. It's probably one of my least favourite tasks.

i enjoy painting. the secret is the brushes and rollers. a good brush, roller head and pole is an investment if looked after. biggest investment i made was a pelican and its inserts would not be without it now. also recommend these brushes first time i used one i had a big cheesy grin, the silver one is also good.

I don't mind the painting so much it's just all the prep and shoving furniture around. It's the living room too so the most used room in the house.

I have had several Wooster brushes and they do leave a nice finish especially with water based paints. The only down side is they do hold a limited amount of paint. Last lot I bought were Harris Trade fine tip - rated those as well. Never been a fan of angled brushes though

I've managed to put off decoration at Trev Towers for the best part of fifteen years... The whole place needs doing now. Dammit.

The new windows get fitted in three weeks so I've got no excuse after that, except wanting to ride the bike (or basically do anything else!) instead.

It's been 18 years since I did the living room and it shows. But your comments echo mine, there's always something more interesting to do.

I paid someone to do mine. She did a brilliant job and it shows, the finish is much better than I would achieve. She also did it in less time than I could, so worth the money to me.

I'm likely to do the same. I don't get enough chances to ride the bike as it is, never mind taking several weekends out of the running to do some decorating!

Afternoon orgers. Wet and dismal here. Just been for a walk with Mabel up the Breidden Hills and got back in the car just as the rain turned from drizzle to heavy.
Now sat under the awning at Coco in Welshpool with a coffee and a sticky bun, watching the world go by. I don't think there'll be much gardening today but I have a couple of jobs I can do in the house and the potting shed.

Bore da orgers. Typically wet bank holiday Monday here. I don't think I shall get much done outside today. Time to tackle some of the indoor jobs I've been putting off.
