We've no rain here yet but there is the occasional rumble of thunder in the distance. My sister down near Aberteifi has just messaged me to say it's now raining there. Really hope it makes it here very soon.

Well that never came to anything. An hour of thunder, 45 seconds of rain, anther half hour of thunder and it's over.

We had ten minutes of light rain late yesterday afternoon sat under a gazebo at a friend's house enjoying some nice BBQ asparagus. There was a slight damp smell in the air when we got home so we had a bit fall in HW too but it was all dry by then.

The thunder and rain for today has just stopped (thankfully it waited for me to get home from a ride out). Proper downpour for 30 minutes or so and I can hear the lawn sighing with relief at getting a drink at last.

We also had some rain last night and my lawn also sighed in relief .

We had a tiny amount mid afternoon but we need much more.

At least it was dry for the Cosford air show.

Finished work at 5, got changed into scruffies, fished out the long reach hedge trimmers, slotted in the battery, picked up the broom and bag for the clippings, and... got to within five paces of the hedge I was about to cut when... it started to rain. Oh dear*. Will try again tomorrow.

*This is not the actual phrase I used!

Huge storm here and torrential rain. My water butt filled in an hour. Mind you I only have a small butt.

Morning orgers. Back to the sunshine and heat again by the look of it. The met office is forecasting wall to wall sunshine until Saturday.
