Ah yeah.

It was good the way that when those British people came to Ireland, they learned the Irish language, learned our traditions, and peacefully integrated themselves into Irish society.

Oh wait...

hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state and its laws were made by parliament.
Like others here, I agree with this viewpoint, though its hardly radical Aussie thinking. I can't imagine any western politician would answer any differently if asked whether rules should be made by groups other than parliament. Nice of the Aussies to be straight about it however.

Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push but a fact because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation
This however (like most of the second paragraph) is completely irrelevant and unrelated to what the politicians said. Nice to see that the author has zero understanding of what a "secular state" is.

So, let me just get this straight.

A load of people went to Australia, killed, or ruined the lives of, everyone that already lived there. Took their land off them. Told them to **** off into the bits of the bush they didnt want.

This load of people settle down, and put a load of policies into place to make the Australian founder's lives a misery, and their own lives quite nice. They destroy or ignore almost all culture of the founders.

A few other people decide they would like to move out there too.

They must learn this new load of peoples language, pastimes, culture etc.

Awesome.

Unless... these new people had really good guns, and killed most of the previous immigrants, then they wouldnt have to right? There would be no point really.
