Did not appreciate the 4am alarm but I picked up my (knackered looking) 83 year old mum this morning from Heathrow after her flight home from Syndey. Several last minute itinerary changes to avoid over-flying the worst of the middle east conflict probably did not help.
Headed to The Monkey's after dropping mum off and I am struggling to stay awake now...

Morning all. Looks like we're back to the wet weather here for today and tomorrow. The rest of the coming week is looking better though.
I made a start on the veg plot yesterday, got the first early spuds in, did some weeding, prepared an area for sowing carrot seeds and mulched one of the beds with some of my garden compost. I was a bit achey by the time I finished and did wonder if I'd overdone things, but no ill effects this morning. That and a 7.5 mile walk yesterday morning probably explains the need for a a good night's sleep last night! How's the weekend going for everyone else?

Got home at lunchtime today and thankfully avoided the multi-car pile up on the M40 that was only a few dozen cars ahead. Too many young idiots are on our roads with fast cars they cannot handle, judging by the walking wounded and mangled metal half over (!) the central barrier.
Spent the afternoon tidying the house, cleaning the windows, putting boxes full of our usual clutter into the garage... ahead of our fist viewing tomorrow. So tiring!

I went to fill up the TA yesterday after my test ride of the CB650R and couldn't unlock the fuel cap! During the winter I bought some graphite powder and lubed various door locks including all the locks on the bike. I tested them all after and they all worked fine.
My suspicion is that the graphite had headed south in the lock and was blocking the key, probably helped by vibration. I flushed it out with WD40 and its now working again. So the moral is go easy on the graphite. (all the other locks are fine)

Boxman. Wacky sense of humour is still missed. Gone too soon.

Thanks for the reminders Geo - they're very much appreciated.
I accidentally picked up a bottle of rather nice rum at the supermarket this morning so it seems right to crack it open and toast our much missed friend.

Morning all. Another glorious spring day here at the moment. However, it is a lot colder than it has been, and the forecast is for it to get cloudy with maybe some rain later today, so I'll make the most of the sun and get out for a walk with Mabel. Next week looks like being wetter, and the forecast is even giving sleet for Wednesday. March weather!
What's everyone's weekend been like so far?
