Hi all,
I wanted to share a project we’ve been working on over the past few years, and which is now ready to move on to a new owner. Starting with a standard Suzuki SV650, the aim wasn't to build a novelty or a garage experiment, but to properly convert the platform to electric while retaining everything that makes the SV such a good real-world motorcycle — balance, proportions, and usability. The petrol drivetrain was completely removed and replaced with a dedicated electric powertrain built around an ME1507 motor and modular LiFePO₄ battery system. The focus throughout was on doing the job properly, both mechanically and electrically, rather than cutting corners. Most importantly, the bike is fully road legal. It has: • Passed IVA / SVA inspection • Been MOT’d • Been accepted and registered by the DVLA as an electric motorcycle • Supporting constructor documentation covering the conversion So this isn't a project, prototype or unfinished build — it’s a legitimate, registered electric SV650 that can be ridden and insured like any other bike. The reason for using the SV650 as the base was obvious to anyone here. It’s one of the most forgiving and well-balanced road chassis Suzuki produced, and it lends itself well to this kind of engineering work while still looking and feeling like a proper motorcycle. We’ve decided to sell it now and see if there’s an enthusiast who appreciates what’s gone into it — whether as something to ride, to develop further, or simply as an interesting example of what can be done with the platform. I’ve listed it on eBay so everything is transparent, with full details, photos and documentation here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/177886934059 “The bike has been fully refurbished and finished in a beautiful Blue metalic paint” 20,000 miles (19,997 to be exact lol) it is beautiful. Just in need of a new loving home My company restored and changed this into a work of art I can certainly agree to that! She is a beaut. £3,000 ono please. any questions just ask and I will get my boss to answer the tech stuff lol Many thanks Susie

Very interesting project! What sort of range have you had out of it, and what is the performance like?

Yes, an interesting conversion, and very tidily finished too. Like Darren, I'd be interested to know about performance and range. Are you using a standard lithium/iron battery or one of the newly developed solid state devices?
