Default Looking For A Definitive Answer

I've done a fair amount of research, and it's lead me to believe that the fuel pump assembly from my 07 DL650 will fit into an 05 or later SV650 fuel tank, with some very minor mods. But I can't seem to get confirmation of this, from someone who has tried it firsthand.

Does anyone have a definitive answer on this?

Thanks in advance.

I am planning on customizing my DL650, by adding an SV650 fuel tank, and leaving the top section of the fairing in place, with the bulbous side panels removed.

The bike looks good to me this way, except for the large front extensions on the stock fuel tank. I'm thinking the SV650 tank could be the answer...

I could be wrong, but I doubt the SV650 tank will fit - the frame's different. The seat/tank 'interface' would be different too.

There is a guy who has done it, but I can't seem to find a way of contacting him directly. I have seen second-hand information, stating that the guy who built this hybrid, says the tank must have some minor mods made to the mounting tabs and the fuel pump openings, and that the tank will have to sit about 3/4 inch high on the frame rails.

Here's a few shots of one of his bikes. He's a German dude, I believe...

That picture looks like it has a completely different Frame to the first set of pictures, looks more like an SV frame than a DL...saying that the first model looks brand new... interesting mod tho

Yes, it's a DL frame. It just looks so wildly different because the one on the black bike lacks the black plastic infills that go over the edge of the tank/frame.

Good afternoon.
I have a tank from an unfaired 650 pointy, it has a dent in it, but you're more than welcome to it if you want one to play around with, to see if you can make it fit.

Cheers.

Spanner Man...

What year SV is your dented tank from?

Please PM me with the deets on how I can acquire that tank from you.

Thanks in advance.

P.S.

Since I'm in Canada, even a photo or two of the fuel pump assembly opening would be a great help. That would allow me to eyeball things, to begin with.
