Restricting a Daytona 675?
Mates on his Race Replica 28bhp RS125 atm, but fed up of lack of power + the stroker have such a narrow powerband, and having a lack of torque..
Hes After a large 4 stroke bike, has his eyes set on a 675, but anyone know how it would run restricted to 33bhp? Hes already passed his Das and that, only 17, same as me.. Thanks a Bunch David. |

Re: Restricting a Daytona 675??
Waste of time I'd imagine, better off with an SV or something else (small and only partially restricted, Ninja 250, 400 single etc...) , although this is just hypothetical thinking in my head.

Re: Restricting a Daytona 675??
His insurance will be insane for a 675 at 17, he'll no doubt be the coolest kid on the block but at the end of the day, what's the point?

Re: Restricting a Daytona 675??
nothing more embarrassing than riding a 160mph missile / scalpel hybrid and having your **** handed to you by a Golf GTI cause you've only got 33 horses...
i can't imagine what a 675 would feel like restricted, it's already putting out more than that at 5000rpm so it'd be heartbreaking, like the kid who turns up down the local meet on a repsol rep fireblade + matching leathers, yet whenever he leaves the car park and "guns it" down the road he accelerates like a swift saloon car, all fart and no ****

Re: Restricting a Daytona 675??
Dont think i can sway his mind to a SV , unless i can prove to him that a 675 will run lyk sh!t restricted..
Hes 18 in June, so still 1 year+ of his restricion left.. Last edited by Sally; 13-02-09 at 11:12 PM. |

that'll mean far more to someone like the person you're describing than how well the bike will run...
