A couple of runs between the two places with my car and Jacob's car should see everything moved. Then I think I shall have a quiet couple of days after what has been a pretty hectic week.

How's the week been for everyone else? Any plans for the weekend?
I'm waiting for the sun to come around a bit more to increase the power from the solar panels, then I'll plug the car in for a solar charge prior to driving to the step-daughter's place near Twycross Zoo.

Their local butcher has an annual BBQ which we are attending . Hopefully its not the 30°C forecast, something like 25°C more comfortable.

Bloody nightmare. Car has died on the second run from Druid's Heath to Coventry. Just had to get recovered back to Sioned and Jacobs place at a cost of £225!
Got to try and find a garage to look at it tomorrow morning. Unlikely they'll do anything, till Monday though.

I hope so too Craig. I suspect it's the fuel pump.

I'm stopping at Sioned and Jacob's now over the weekend as none of the garages are open till Monday, so I can't get it looked at until then. I'll get it booked in and collected and then get the train back to Welshpool.

I discovered a ticket from Coventry to Welshpool is just £7.40p on a weekday with my old fart's railcard so worth going home and comjng back when the car is done.

Morning all. On my way back to Coventry to collect my now repaired car. Thankfully it wasn't the fuel pump but a wiring fault which apparently made a bit of a mess of the ecu. They spent several hours with the car plugged into the computer resetting it. So now I have the joy of a train ride to Coventry and then a two hour drive back.

Hope everyone else's day is more fun!

Last time I needed to go anywhere by train on a Friday it was very crowded. But then it was into and then out of London... Hope your trip (via New Street I assume?) Was not as bad and the bill for the car is not too bad Gary.

Morning all. Mission accomplished and car collected. The trains all the way from y Trallwng/Welshpool to Coventry were very busy but were all on time and I had a seat the whole way. Mabel came with me and was less than pleased at having to share space with so many people. She wore her best "long suffering" expression all the way.

Met up with Sioned in Coventry and had a coffee with her then we picked up the car and went back to her and Jacob's house where I did a couple of little gardening jobs for her.

I set google maps to bring me back home via Stourbridge and Bridgnorth but it re-routed me before I realised what had happened and I ended up coming round a horrendously congested M6 with 40 and 50mph limits all the way. Grim!

Car ran perfectly all the way home in very hot conditions with the air con going full blast for the entire journey.

No more car episodes like that please!
