Default Road Rage

Yesterday morning, riding home from work, I was overtaken at a roundabout by a white van.

As if that wasn't bad enough, the driver then cut me up as I exited from the roundabout. The exit only has one lane, so the sensible thing to do would have been for him to stay on the right hand side of the lane and complete the overtake. Instead, he drove towards me, sandwiching me between the kerb and his van and forced me onto the pavement as I'd run out of road, before speeding off.

Three car drivers who'd witnessed the fiasco stopped to help as did a few pedestrians. A couple of people had managed to get the registration details of the van. The police were called so hopefully this lunatic will get his just desserts!!

According to witness statements, the white van had been weaving erratically through busy traffic on the dual carriageway that leads up to the roundabout and had already forced one of the cars out of his way.

I guess I was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

At least you have witnesses prepared to help, I expect a decent outcome!

So long as the witnesses with give statements, a due care is on the cards!

Well done for keeping it shiny side up,

Pete

Rubber still in contact with tarmac = result.

Nice one for keeping it upright, hope you're not too shaken and the driver gets bummed.

I'm glad you didn't get hurt. I had a similar event when I was in the car, on the bike would be awful!
