Hi Everyone,
Apologies for my absence both on the forum and on the roads, been rediculously busy all year. Not even got the bike on the road this year and just declared the SORN so I can get it sorted. Still a lot to do before I get it back on the road. Oil + Filter (In progress) New Helmet purchase Leather trousers purchase Replace left pillion footpeg (not compulsory) Replace springs and fork oil (need assistance on this one) Replace the frame bit that everything bolts onto in the nose of the bike (don't even know what this is called but best I've found is Brace Cowling :s) Get MOT Get Tax That might be it, bike is currently stripped down at the front in preparation. |

Well well,
a blast from the past! ![]() A few of us were wondering about you Matt.!! Even I came out of hibernating a while back. ![]() Why are you needing a front subframe........accident? Get yourself some springs before you start on the forks.....here or on ebay. Two ways of changing oil, proper way taking forks off,- lazy way, syphon it out. |

I'm looking for some springs just now and have enquired on the main forum as to which ones I should be getting. No point doing the oil without springs I don't think. Might just do it the proper way and take the forks off but Northwind is going to help me out so I'll see what he says. |

.........the forks will be coming off then ![]() ![]() ![]() Sorry to hear of the "off". Opinion varies whether to go for linear or progressive. More folk favour linear....but whether most folk would notice the difference...??? My opinion is get whatever comes on the market first......it'll make a big improvement whichever you choose. |

I feel for ya, forks are a pain in the ****!
The main problem is getting the inner sheath out as it rotates whilst you're trying to unscrew it - I ended up sticking a broom handle with a rubber glove on the end up it to stop it spinning. Took me about 4 days just to do the bloody forks ![]() |
