I'd agree with that. When I bought my SV it still had half of the 3-year warranty remaining but I did all servicing myself as I wasn't going to pay rob-dog dealer prices for oil changes. I simply assumed nothing would go wrong (and nothing did).

£290 seems a lot. My VW extended warranty for the ID.4 cost me £260 for al parts and 15k miles. There's a lot more to go wrong in an EV than on a modern motorbike.

Yes it does seem expensive by comparison. I paid for a service plan when I bought the bike. It includes 3 services of which the last is next month. I've never had a main agent service my bikes but I assumed I'd need to pay them to keep the warranty. That too in hindsight was expensive for what is basically an air change and a general check over.

Did your plan include anything beyond the standard checks, like valve clearance or brake fluid swap? Some plans sneak in higher-cost intervals to justify the pricing, but if it’s all minor, yeah… not exactly money well spent.

Morning all. Yet another sunny day. Very nice but I'd like a bit of rain please for my garden! Busy afternoon as we have our bi-monthly Repair Café here in Llanfyllin at which I'll be working. Not as many advance bookings as normal today but there are bound to be a few walk in repairs so we won't be short of stuff to fix. I'll go out for a walk with Mabel first though, before it gets to warm for her.

Anything exciting going on in .org land for anyone else?

I recall it didn't include consumables such as brake pads and tyres, I'm not sure about a valve check. I'm a long way off the milage for the valves anyway.
