Default Essential mods?

Got my SV at the end of last summer. Been reading a few things about the bike and a few essential modifications are listed (hugger, proggresive fork springs, scorpion can, ect...).

I've only added a fender extender at the moment (no need for a standing ovation ), so what else should I be considering?

Nothing to expensive please! I'm only a poor hairy arsed steel worker.

Do the springs, if you feel the front is too soft. I'd go for single rate springs, and '02 pre-load adjusters. If you're handy with the tools and have got a Haynes, no mod should cost the earth.

I've just had a quote for springs - £55 + VAT... A litre of Oil isn't much...

BTW - You don't need progressives - (ordinary) liniar(sp?) springs are probably better

Looking at the spring rates I'll have to change mine. Lost a stone and a half so .85kg/mm springs are now a bit much......

Cloggsy,

Where did you get the quote of £55 + vat from?
and what exactly was it you were ordering?

I've got springs from Progressive suspension in mine and I've not noticed a problem with 15w oil in the front, even with me being 12-13.5 (depending on time of year) stone. Plus sometimes having the wife on the back. Seems to cope fine, just noticed how cack the rear shock was.
