Default Busy-ness

Just ordered a set of roman blinds for the bay window in my gaff. The ceiling of the bay is a crap and cracked piece of skim plaster. Originally I was just going to put up a tidy piece of timber to hold the blinds, but when I looked at it with Jan, we decided it would be much nicer if we did this.

Tongue and groove board. Should look very nice once I've waxed it.

While we were putting it up we discovered what a crap job the company had done when fitting the windows for the council. God knows how they managed it but they windows bow in slightly, and the opening bits are crooked in the frames. Add to that, the bay ceiling sags slightly. It made getting the tongue and groove boards lined up, and making a tidy job of the trim round the edges very time consuming. Worth doing though, it looks a million times better now.

Thanks Craig. I'm looking forward to finally getting some blinds up there. It will only have taken me the best part of two years!

After seeing how many windows the Everest fitters installed in two days at Trev Towers I have a feeling they all cut as many corners as they can! Thankfully they came back to fix the snagging before they went bust again...

That does look very neat Gary.

Thanks Trevor. It's certainly nicer to look at than what was there previously, and considering I've never done anything like it before I'm pretty happy with the result.
