Default OMO - recommend me a campsite...

Oh Mighty Org, next year (2013) me and some mates are going to the TT on our bikes. I've never been on a long trip away on a bike, so we're going on a practice trip this summer. I was posted to RAF Leeming in a previous life so a trip to York seemed far enough away but not too far, plus it's a great place to visit.

Anyway - long story short - recommend me some good campsites that will accept a cuppla bikers.

I've "googled" a few, but I'm looking for a personal recommendation or two

Ta muchly

Och aye the noo

Scotty

If it was me I'd say make the extra effort and come to Scotland and enjoy some really special roads. I like this place and we've used it for a couple of GM's;

The you could use some of the blindingly good roads in the area!!!

Careless - I'm originally from Livingston, but Scotland is a little too far for a three day jaunt, which is all the time i can spare at the mo. However rest assured if more time becomes available then I'll be up like a shot.

Andrew - thanks mate, I'll look into Dalesbridge.

I recommend Sykeside on the Kirkstone.

We used this on one of the North/South runs.

Decent bar, decent food. Reasonable bogs/showers etc.

Bike friendly
