Default Electrical problems

Hello all.... just picked up a 2000 SVS and have a small question.
I have recently acquired a new reg./rect. So, we did a quick check and took a reading of the yellow wires and we are getting a reading of 150 V....
Now, the Suzi manual says that the reg./rect. can take anthing over 70V.
Now, 150 is more thatn double. Do you think this will fry the new r/r? Could it be a problem with the generator?
We have no idea why there is so much juice coming out of that thing.
Has anyone come across this problem in the past? Would greatly appreciate some input on this.
Many thanks in advance.

A.

ps greeting from Canada.

Last time I checked the output from a ~2000ish SV between the 3 pins from the altenator I saw around 70-80V AC between the pins. Just check the multimeter is definatly set to the correct range and AC. Other than that it seems a bit odd.
