HELP speedo problem
my k5 is just over a week old and the speedo is not working properly somtimes it just reads 0mph no matter how fast you go and other times it keeps changing speed when the bike is going at a constant speed (this is not fun when you are going past speed cameras)
anybody had anything similar happen to them? i'm going to phone the dealer up tomorrw and see if they can fix it because i have the week off work and want to be riding it. |

I know of a few k3's that chewed up the speedo drive. It's alittle part that fits on the front wheel spindle and isn't really up to the job. Take it back to the dealers and have it done uner warranty.

Speedo
I had a speedo that read 0 and then flicked up to random speeds on my curvy, and it was the speedo lead had broken (by the left front fork) and was making a bad connection - i had it replaced and it was fine

I had the same problem on my k4 a few months ago. I took it to the dealers and they simply checked and cleaned all the electrical connections which solved the problem.

On the pointy bikes, i thought that the speedo was on the front sprocket cover, or is that when you do a front end conversion?
