Default Somerset / Dorset Rideout Planner

Further to a prod in the ribs from Rich, reminding me that I said this.

EDIT - I have done a bit more research and this is the propsed route

Start at Little Chef off of Podimore Roundabout, where the A37 and A303 Join

Follow A372 to Langport and then A372 to Bridgwater, then
Follow A39 to Minehead, then on up over Porlock Hill, Down into Lynmouth, Follow A39 ( I think ) out of Lynmouth, then
Follow A399 towards, Barnstable, then
Follow A361 to Tiverton then
Follow B3181 to Cullompton then
Follow A373 to Honiton then
Follow A30 to Chard then
Follow A30 to Crewkerne then
Follow A356 towards Illminster / Illchester Meriot then
Pickup A303 and head towards orginal start point

Milleage as near as makes no difference 165
time taken 4 hrs including some stops for Drinks and chocolate, and to take a few pictures

Provisonal Date for this is Saturday 13th August, If we can all meet at the Start point for 10:30 ish so as to be away by 11:00am

Looking forward to meeting eveybody

Sounds a good idea, Fizz

The Minehead road although nice is full of 40s, but I've no alternative. After Minehead a run up Porlock Hill then via the confusion that is Lynmouth and Lynton and then across the moor would be nice.

ooops yep I had forgotten that they had re-done most of that.

I also think that ride through past the Cerne Giant is in order as well

If you're in the Exeter area I might ride up and meet you for some of the route.

Although I am working some weekends in August. Just pick a date and route and I'll join in if I can.

Oh Good, I was talking to someone regarding such an event. I wasn't going to post anything until after AR05 (as Jonboy has termed it).

This is what I had in mind

I'll be happy to tag along with any plans of yours Fizz, as I don't know the area that well .

That would certainly not be a bad ride, I dont know those roads to well.

I know Yeovil, Bridgwater, Dorchester, Bridport, Weymouth area much better

Let me go out on the bike and do a bit of research and I will try and work something out

Maybe we could do two seperate rideouts ??

The only part of that route I'm familiar with is the A39 Minehead to Lynemouth which is a rather good stretch of tarmac.
