End of the Gixxer 750 in the uk! - SV650.org

Well i had to renew my insurance today, and while on the phone i got chatting to the insurance guy, and apparently in a year or so Insurance companies will no longer be insuring the GSXR 750 due to the amount they are paying out in claims!
As it is far higher then what that are receiving in premiums! Even having been pushing up the price, they are still making a loss!

Just a heads up in case anyone is looking at getting one, its something to note!

Surely not every insurer can refuse to touch them. There is a fair few in the UK I would imagine. Discrimination me thinks lol

Really? Surely they would just do 3rd party only at least or something?

Doubt they will make it uninsurable. More than likely it will jump up insurance groups and command a higher premium.

PT6 has already sold it to... MarkC

They won't stop insuring it, upping the premiums. They is more 750's on the road compared to the 1000 as the 750 has been in production since 1985

Not a chance this is true.

That suggests they think all the GSXR riders would simply stop riding unless they could ride a 750.

Apparently they have already been upping the premium on them, and seeing as when i went to insure the one i bought, the cheepest quote i could get as a new rider was £9,999, i can see some truth to it! Had to sell mine and get an SV!

They'll just up the insurance group, I would wager it'll end up in the same group as the GSXR 1000 is...
