I didn't John unfortunately. My big regret was failing to record him ranting and raving, would have made a good y tube vid!. Think it may be time to fit a dash cam!
Bit of good news the Cub is back up and running sweetly. Now that the weather is about to turn wintery.

I didn't know that when Cabinet ministers lose their jobs they are entitled to redundancy payments equivalent to 25% of their salary. So Thick Lizzie's cohorts will get £17k for their 7 weeks debacle (unless they turn it down, of course )

Thick Lizzie herself gets £115k extra for life for being an ex-PM.

Yeah, that sounds entirely reasonable.*

OMO - should I moan at next door's builders about the volume of their music? A whole gang of them are on site today getting ready it seems for the bricklaying to start. It's bad enough that I have an audience watching everything I do outside but the blaring music is really grating on me now. The brazier burning rubbish is less annoying but the wind is blowing the smoke over their other neighbour (who is hosting a bonfire night party next week so...).

It's not like I'm working today, as in the day job, but it is rather spoiling the usual peace I get at weekends when I potter about. I may just let the neighbours have a word (they've moved out for the duration so are not about to hear it) but equally I want them to hurry up and finish it!

What is it with Builders? They appear to require a constant stream of noise before they can function. A good pair of ear defenders may help!

I went in the garage this morning to take the bins out and the chest freezer alarm light was on! I opened it up and it was certainly warmer than it should be, but everything still frozen thankfully. I've transferred all the expensive stuff to the smaller indoor freezer to save it, but loads of vegetables still in there. There's no room in the smaller freezer for anything else, so it the freezer dies, so does the food.

I had a fiddle with the 'powerfreeze' button and the thermostat in case that was stuck and I hear the compressor running now. Fingers crossed it is working again and the high temp alarm was due to the lid not being closed properly

I'm not too bothered about the freezer dying if it does, its the waste of food and money it causes that would upset me. I've had that freezer 20 years, so it doesn't owe me anything.

Could any neighbours help with freezer space if the worse happens? Just until you get a new one.

It's a big freezer John. What is left in there would fill an under counter freezer and at least half of medium chest freezer. It seems to be getting colder in there an hour after me fiddling, so fingers crossed it's OK. Worst case we can use some of what is in there but most of the veg would be lost. The timing is bad, as we are away from tomorrow and all neighbours that might help are at work, so will just have to keep fingers crossed for the moment.
