Default Suzuki Warranty

Hi guys,

I have a question for you regarding Suzuki warranty, I bought a GSX-S 750 new in 2020. I noticed that the seat has rubbed off paint on the rear section of the bike and also rubbed through the paint on the petrol tank. I put a warranty claim in through the dealer and it was rejected by Suzuki saying it isn't due to faulty materials or manufacturing so is a result of external influences. I then contacted Suzuki customer services for an explanation and as you can expect got no where, with them saying that effectively its my fault and isn't due to faulty materials or manufacturing. They have said if I wish to take the complaint further then i should contact the MCIA, is this worth doing or am I just wasting my time?

I suppose it depends on how annoyed you are and how much paint has been lost. Is this the rider's seat and is it from being removed and refitted? (a pic would help). Most bikes I've owned have chafed the paint between the seat front and the tank rear given enough time. What did the dealer say? Have you asked on the GSX-S750 forum if anyone else has suffered similar wear?

If Suzuki are correct in saying it's not faulty materials/manufacturing it only leaves incorrect assembly or operator error.
Difficult to say without seeing it - I have rubbed off some frame paint because of where I put my boots on the footrest, my fault not Suzukis.

I'd say most of the paint under the seat is gone and on the tank its two small sections where the edge of the seat has touched. I'll try get some pics later tonight . It is from the riders seat but i've never removed it since owning the bike only noticed the paint whilst cleaning it as you can see under the seat.

pics attached, this is with me lifting the seat a bit. You can't really see it with the seat down

As someone who is picky/fussy about the condition of their newly purchased bikes, I empathise and am horrifed by every uncovered blemish I find on them. This paint loss would annoy me, but on the other hand your bike is 2 years old and the chafing from the seat I would probably put down as fair wear and tear.

If someone told me this, I wouldn't be happy and wouldn't necessarily accept it until I checked with other owners of similarly aged bikes. If their bikes were the same I'd grumble and move on, if mine was unique I would probably try and take it further. Have you checked on the GSX-S750 forum?

I'm glad it's not just me who's picky! I find it really annoying especially with how much care I put into the bike.

Tbh I didn't realise that there was a forum for the GSX-S 750, although looking at the ones i have found so far there doesn't seem to be much activity .
