Pics from yesterday's Beating of the Bounds in High Wycombe. Probably the last time we'll see it, assuming our move goes ahead that is.





As you can see it's the same small lad that followed the procession around town with his parents. There are over a dozen of the ancient marker stones still visible around town but we only stopped at four point on this tour. The last one, by the market, is The Dog Stone, which is not actually a boundary stone, but it's a good place for pics.

Poppy got chatting to his parents. Turns out the lad is the mayor's nephew.

And the only service visible was a lowly corporal from the RAF. The HQ of the RAF is just a couple of miles outside Wycombe so they're often invited to take part in civic events like this. Although, when they do the Mayor Weighing ceremony it's usually a group captain taking part...

Ok so not at all biker but there we go.

An old denim jacket of mine was in need of repair, so I set to this afternoon and made a start.

The panel across the back of the shoulders had worn thin and had a hole on one side.



First I made a pattern from thin card.



Then used it to make the replacement panel with the hem allowance, which I turned over and steam ironed.



The panel pinned in place.



And the first line of stitch all the way round. I'll do a second line tomorrow so it's double stitched.



Not the tidiest bit of sewing I've ever done, but it was an awkward item to get under the foot of the machine. It'll do the job though.
