Default Newbie wants advice

Hey all,
Relatively new here, just about to get my first Bike (as long as i get through test first time!) A Pointy SV650 sport. This Forum rocks, thought I would ask for advice on a few things.

What do you think on these add ons?

The bike is new, was going to add these,

Datatool system 4 red
R and G crash bungs
K and N filter
Blue Flame Evo 3 pipe
pyramid hugger and fender extender
scottoiler
rad cover and finally
braided hoses

Any feedback appreciated?

Thanks
Ian

The bike is new, was going to add these,

Datatool system 4 red got one- they're brilliant. added feeling of security when you leave it outside is brilliant
R and G crash bungs motosliders are better in my opinion, and cheaper
K and N filter pretty unnecessary, they're not as good as people rate them
Blue Flame Evo 3 pipe good looking, blue flame have a history of problems but it seems their customer service is pretty good.
pyramid hugger and fender extender def worth doing
scottoiler
rad cover and finally
braided hoses Standard brakes are pretty spongy, probably worth putting sintered pads in too

Any feedback appreciated?

Thanks
Ian

Welcome.

All the mods are either useful or aestetic, which is down to personal taste so if you like the look of it, go for it.

With the K&N though, there isn't much point putting it in untill the OE filter needs replacing. It doesn't flow any more air that you'd notice (maybe a little more induction noise but you'll never hear it over the can), but the fact that it doesn't need cleaning as often or replacing is handy.

As I don't have a SV I can't really comment, except on the alarm. I have a Datatool 3 on my Daytona 650 and I wish I hadn't bothered. It cost £250 - a waste of money - when did you last see someone come running to a bike alarm? It's too sensitive, it drains the battery, the insurance discount is risible, and it irritates me more than I can say.

Welcome to the site, it order for local meet ups and ride outs why not add your location in your profile.

as to your list,

Datatool system 4 red good alarm although expensive

R and G crash bungsAlways wise, you will uses them at some point
K and N filterIt'll save you money in the long run, but not a priority
Blue Flame Evo 3 pipe (not my cup of tea, like the build of Renegade & remus myself)
pyramid hugger and fender extender Extender is once again wise, hugger more a cosmetic thing
scottoiler useful if you're doing the mileage
rad cover and finally
braided hoses I'd do this

You've also missed something I'd do of the bat and that's front springs & oil.
In order of priority I'd do them like this.

1./ Datatool system 4 red
2./ R and G crash bungs
3./ Springs & oil
4./ SLIP -on can
5./ Fender Extender
6./ Braided hoses (front only, back is pretty irrelevant)
Hugger, K&N, Rad cover as money allowed

(one other thing, tyres, although the standard dunlops are fine to start with you may want to change them as you get more spirited, take a look in the tyre section)

Hope that helps.

Cheers Mark.

I agree with ED about the alarm too.I'd fit crash bungs,Scotoiler, fender extenda and whatever can makes your ears happy. Then get out and ride it as much as possible so as to wear out the standard tyres, and fit better ones.Braided hoses are fine to replace OE ones when they are old and baggy, but a bit of a wast of money initially IMO.
Oh and welcome to the outhouse.
