Bowel Cancer Ride John O’Groats to Lands End 23- 25th June
A friend was sent this email, and passed it to me. Wish I could do this ride, coz Bowel Cancer has hit our family quite hard, but unfortunately I just can't do it. If anyone here is able to do it. I'll sponsor them.
JOIN BIKERS AGAINST BOWEL CANCER >> > > lace w:st="on">Lynnlace>’s Bowel Cancer Campaign is calling for all motorcycle enthusiasts to take part in a marathon bike ride from John O’Groats to Lands End from 23rd to 25th June to raise much needed funds for the Faster Diagnosis of Bowel Cancer as well as raise awareness and encourage people to take notice about the symptoms of bowel cancer. The Bike ride, which is taking place during Bowel Cancer Faster Diagnosis week, is the brainchild of Biker Richard Jordan who was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer at 38 years old. We are looking for 50 motor cyclists who will ride the length of the country in outsized shorts in a bid to say “Pants to Bowel Cancer”. 20 eager bikers have signed up already. >> > > ITINERARY>> > > Thursday 22.06.06 - Ride up to lace w:st="on">Invernesslace> at Leisure and meet fellow bikers.>> Friday 23.06.06 - Ride from lace w:st="on">Invernesslace> to start at John O’Groats. They are the only charity whose work is endorsed by the Association of Coloproctology (Bowel specialist doctors and nurses). Lynn’s charity is mainly run by volunteers - lace w:st="on">Lynnlace> isn’t paid a penny – so all sponsors’ money will go into the project, to develop Computer Assisted Diagnosis software and get it into GP surgeries. One in five people with bowel cancer suffer a year’s delay or more before diagnosis and for many, by then, it’s too late. With Computer Assisted Diagnosis and three questions, your GP should be able to tell the chances of your having a serious problem. lace w:st="on">Lynnlace> is an expert in bowel cancer and has an honorary doctorate in the disease. |
