Default Steering damper needed on SV?

Hello all .
I have just brought my first big bike (sv650 1999 red ) .
I am currently only 16 as i am waiting till im 17 to restrict it.
In the meanwhile im going to buy the parts i like to make it just how i want
Anyway
i have seen a steering damper on another sv650 . and i was wondering whether they make a great diffrence .

Many thanks
Ollie

Don't need one a on a 650.
Would make a small difference, but that money is best spent on petrol.

SV doesn't need a steering damper.
Or, in all probability anything else you're going to bolt to it before you ride it. By all means buy things you want for the cosmetics, but buying things to change the feel / handling of a bike you've never ridden isn't ideal. There's a chance you'll spend a lot of money to bolt on bits that make it feel less like you wanted it to.

My mate got an sv just yesterday, i took it for a quick hurl and the first thing i noticed was how twitchy the front end is compared to mine (a thou)
Was actually wondering ig you could transplant a thou dampner to a 650?
