Default do you get the damper rods out?

carsounds_dan has been trying to get some damper rods out of a spare set of forks so I can have them off him, but after undoing bolt in the bottom of the RHS fork leg and taking out the springs he's having a job getting the rods out. I thought that they'd just slide out if you upended the forks, and he's had a go at fishing them out with some wire but they're just spinning around inside the fork. Any ideas from the org about how to remove them please?

As he said, the bolt at the very bottom of the forks, turn the upside-down to see.

Broom handle down into the fork to hold the rod, the try and undo the bolt (need two people)

Or loosen it a touch before you take the forks off so you use the compression to keep them there.

That's where the smart money is, but I think it's a bit late for that!

That's how I did it. I could only get one out though because the second fork was too badly bent

Thats what I did on the 2nd fork leg, on the first fork leg I ended up putting the springs back in and fork cap back on before I could undo the damper rolt bolt.
