K3 front end
Have tried the search bar on forum but it won't allow me to type anything in it just disappears 🙄
I imagine this has been covered loads so hopefully there's some helpful comments and links about 😉 I think my k3 currently has standard front end and a nitron r1 rear. I'm hoping to get a bar conversion on there but wondering if it's worth doing a gsxf/gsxr front end conversion but have no idea what needs changing. What tried and tested routes are worth pursuing. On a tight yorkshiremans budget 😉 |

Re: K3 front end
Have you tried "advanced search"? Click on search, then advanced search in the little box/window that appears. Or, try a right click on search and select "open link in new tab".

Re: K3 front end
I suspect a pop-up blocker is closing it automatically.

Re: K3 front end
You can use google to search this site by typing into your browser url ("bar swap" for example):
site:forums.sv650.org/ bar swap I use firefox and it works for that browser

Re: K3 front end
i'll chime in here and no not about the forum search...
GSXR front end conversions are expensive and all you gain is adjustability and better brakes. you can fettle the front of the standard forks with upgraded sprigs to suit your weight and oil to gain about 80-90% performance of gsxr forks. this along with a good strip and service of your callipers should see you good for street riding. |

Re: K3 front end
I have a K3, with both a bar conversion and a front end swap. The whole job cost more than my bike is probably worth, but she looks amazing and rides beautifully. However, I made the swaps because I have a disability and could no longer bend over clip on bars and needed very soft suspension to ease further back pain. You can find my whole build thread here.
I used a set of R1 forks (purchased on here), with GSXR yokes that I had machined and then had risers fitted to. The forks were stripped and rebuilt by MCT with a mix of Maxton and Ohlins internals. I have upgraded brakes because I have weak and arthritic hands and appreciate the extra braking power. I am currently thinking about changes I can make to the cutch because on long rides, I struggle to pull the clutch lever. The biggest tip I have for you is don't grow old. Stay young forever! |
