Default Front right caliper

I've just replaced the front left due to a piston leak, working great now but sods law the right hand side now I've bled has a leaky piston itself.. there's burrs where the seal sits so it needs replaced.

I know the tokico 2 pot calipers are on bandits, gladius, v strom etc but do people know if the gen2 SV front calipers have the same fitments as the old? The part numbers aren't the same but they look exactly the same.

Cheers

As far as I'm aware, they're the same unit across the curvy and pointy range. (But that's only based on basic visual inspection rather than anything more scientific.)

But can you not just replace the pistons & seals in your existing caliper after carefully using some fine emery cloth or similar to de-burr the edges? As long as the main bore itself is clean and smooth, it should seal up fine with new pistons and seals.

They do look like a very generic caliper. They might even be the same on the DL650.

I made a mistake in my description, its not burrs, they're pitted, so over time as it's been sat for 5 year, it's ate away at the metal. I did consider trying to clean up and replace the pistons and seals but its cheaper to buy a full caliper.

I've tried a few Calliper service kits over the years and they never lasted for me. Same for Master Cylinder kits. I replace the whole units now. Even a good 2nd hand one is usually a better deal IMHO.

This is the right hand part number 59300-33D90-999

according to here for my 1999

If you match up your year using parts-fiche and if they are the same or you get the correct part number there's some decent looking ones for around 45 squids on eBay,

R1ffR4ff seems to have quoted a left hand part number. But the link is good and shows a right hand is 59100-33D90-999 (with a note mentioning 59100-33D81-999 too - hold that thought).

Then, looking up the [for example] K5 variant shows the same part number, 59100-33D90-999, superseded by 59100-33D81-999

https://www.cmsnl.com/suzuki-sv650-2.../BLCK0032.html

and that 'later' part number is also shown for Curvy on the Robinsons Foundry site:

https://www.suzukiparts.co.uk/shop/o...0xfrontcaliper

I reckon there's enough there to be confident that the calipers are interchangeable between 1st and 2nd gen.
