A few pictures from today's ride. Taken on the way up to Bwlch y Groes from Llangower. I was too busy enjoying the ride to take any more.

Daughter Sioned, a friend of ours, Rowenna with her dog Cai, and Mabel and I went for a hike on Saturday. The plan was to start from the car park at Croesor, head up and over Cnicht and then head across to Rhosydd, and old abandoned slate mine and quarry, where we would wildcamp overnight, before returning to Croesor via the summit of Moelwyn Mawr. Well, the best laid plans eh? In the event the weather was grim and we gave the summit of Cnicht a miss, although we were still fairly well up the side. By the time we got to Rhosydd we were too cold and wet to camp, so we dug out the stoves, made tea, had some hot food and set off back to Croesor via a more southerly route, again missing the summit of Moelwyn Mawr. By the time we were halfway back the rain had stopped and we were out of the cloud.
What you might call a challenging walk! It was a good one though, and we're going to try and doing the whole thing again with the summits and wildcamp when the weather is better. So, the pictures (mostly of wet people and dogs!). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Mabel in recovery mode! ![]() A couple of brief vids. The Transalp was booked in for a service today so I took the opportunity to test ride an NC750. I was suitably impressed as it's definitely not slow with a lovely torquey engine. I wasn't so impressed with the comfort though, footpegs are too near the seat for me and the suspension was too stiff for my weight.

Good grief, that's a few quid's worth of motorcycle there! Am I right in thinking they're still using a pushrod operated valve system?

Stuart, aka Spannerman, formerly of this parish, keeps hinting to me that the NC750 is a great buy. Trouble is, the looks do nothing for me. I've not yet plucked up the courage to tell him I've bought a V-Strom 800...

Yes it's not a looker. If I wanted a bike purely for commuting then I'd consider it.

I think that's still the case. There was a 1970's black Commando at the back of the shop too.

Visited the Yorkshire Air Museum today, been wanting to see this aircraft for quite a while, finally got the chance! Even though it was insanely hot today it was definitely worth it.

Some interesting graphics on the fuselage. I'm not sure what plane that is, a Wellington?
