Default New question for the ORG plumbers

The Mira shower has given up the ghost and I have bought a new one in the naive thought it could possible be a like for like replacement.

But. The cold water inlet on the new shower is plastic. The old one was a compression joint.

So could I use the compression elbow or should I remove it and use a push on. There is not much room to work so ideally I would like to continue with the compression. But when I have done so with plastic in the past needed an insert.

The new Mira shower has a small filter where you would normally put a pipe insert.

Advice please.

to answer my own question, it wasn't a like for like swap either so I needed an extra 2" of pipe. so compression to plastic and then a pushon between the compression and the shower inlet.

Leak free (for now)

I'll answer even though you've sorted it already.

Yes you can use a compression fitting onto the plastic inlet without an insert as its a hard plastic whereas the plastic pipes are soft and flexible so need the insert.
When using a compression fitting into plastic I normally use a copper olive.
