If you're going to the NEC next month by car, don't queue up to get into the NEC parking area, head onto the A45 towards Birmingham and follow the signs for Birmingham International Railway Station:
1) You'll end up parked right by the building (usually within 100 yds ish) so if the weather's crap you won't have to walk far outside. 2) You'll be warm and dry walking through the corridors to the show. 3) The station has car park ticket machines and you won't have to wait in a big queue. 4) It's £1 cheaper to park so you can spend an extra pound in the show on goodies. 5) You get to clown around on the moving walkways. But don't tell everybody! ![]() |

I tried it today, and if you do not have a valid train ticket the parking charge is now £25 at Birmingham International Railway Station. Fortunately a parking attendant told us in time and pointed out the notices they've put up. They've introduced it specifically to stop people using it for the NEC. |

Yeah, the signs they have put up look like just laminated print outs stuck on the pay machines and other signs, so it does look like it's recent. Just didn't want anyone to get caught out.

I appologise to anyone who took my advice, I can only say that this is a very recent change.
I've been doing this for many years. Actually I might still do it and buy a cheap ticket to B'ham New St station ![]() |
