If at first you don't succeed - use more gaffa tape.

You need a modified top yoke. The R1 forks are fatter.

TBH save yourself the problems Gixxer k4-5 forks fit streight in! All you have to do is make your own speedo drive... (not that hard to be honest!)

gregmli.blogspot.com/search/label/motorcycle

There is everything you should need on that site, its brilliant!

(search for 'GSX-R Front-End Swap Parts Compatibility' on that page).

True!

What I've used is:
-R1 forks
-R1 wheel + discs
-R1 calipers (verry good stuff)
-R1 spindel
-SRAD 750 top and bottom yokes
-SV stem
-TL clipons
-a spacer for the top yoke
-spacers of 2mm thick for the calipers and the wheel (because the center-center width of the yokes is 4mm to wide)

Why I didn't use the R1 yokes? To much trouble fitting the stem into the yokes. The advantage of the SRAD one is also that you can use the steeringlok with a little modification to the frame (enlargen the hole a little). But I stil didn't come to that...

I think they look realy good. They aren't the best ones, I've heard gsxr ones are a wee bit better, but they do the job!
