Not looking forward to this
My lad is a pain in the bum when it comes to his van. He tends to have a heavy load, heavy right foot and too quick on the left foot.
As a consequence he has in the past 2 years eaten through 5 drive shafts, snapped them at the outer CV joint and because of the damage they are accept back for exchange so damm expensive when bank of dad pays. Just had a phone call. he has had to be recovered again as the engine just screams. He thinks it is the clutch this time. Not surprising the abuse he puts through the gear box. But The daft sod has been recovered to his home, why not to my house if he wants me to do the fix. How the hell does he expect me to fix it for him. Yeah roadside, in the rain. anyone got a recovery truck I can borrow for 1/2 an hour?

Phew, just been up to check
Add yet another drive shaft to his collection. So a replacement for fleabay works out at £55. or from the local factor £80. guess which way I am going.

Re: Not looking forward to this
We took out a joint AA membership nearly 1 year ago to cover 2 people and any car we drive/bike we ride.
I was convinced that we'd never use it and it was just money down the drain. Since then I've had them out to: 1) Replace a bad ground that took 1 hour to locate 2) Diagnose a faulty alarm/immob 3) See why there was a massive petrol leak under the other half's bike 4) Jump start the SV after someone left the heated grips on. 5) Rescue us all from the M1 and recover us and the car >100 miles. I recommend them. I don't recommend the cars I've got, but thats another story. |
